Kentucky offers 2024 On3 4-star CB Jon Mitchell

Jacksonville (Fla.) Mandarin four-star cornerback Jon Mitchell received an offer from Kentucky on Wednesday. He announced the news over social media.

Mitchell is the No. 353 overall prospect and No. 39 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 53 player in Florida and a three-star recruit.

On3 ranks Mitchell higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Mitchell is a four-star recruit, the No. 217 overall prospect, No. 20 cornerback and No. 25 player in Florida.

The offer from the Wildcats was Mitchell’s second of the day, following Michigan. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, it is a very tight race for his commitment. Penn State has the lead at 37.3%, while Northwestern is close behind at 32.6%.

RPM was released to the public in December. The On3 engineering group teamed up with Spiny.ai to create the industry’s first algorithm and machine learning-based product to predict where athletes will attend college. 

It factors in machine learning, social sentiment, visits and historical trends. However, expert predictions are still a big piece of the RPM equation.

Kentucky currently has no commitments in its 2024 recruiting class. Meanwhile, the Wildcats’ 2023 class is No. 37 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 12 in the SEC.

Mitchell has an On3 NIL Valuation of $5.8K. The On3 NIL Valuation is an index that looks to set the standard market value for both high school and college-level athletes. The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
