Kentucky quarterback Kaiya Sheron enters NCAA Transfer Portal
Kentucky quarterback Kaiya Sheron has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal, On3 has learned. He will have multiple years of eligibility remaining.
A backup during his three years at Kentucky, Sheron played in nine games, all in the last two seasons. He made one start in 2022, where he threw for 178 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. Kentucky lost that game, 24-14.
Sheron’s departure, coupled with the departure of fellow quarterback Destin Wade to the transfer portal, leaves the Wildcats in a lurch with potential options. However, Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops once again appears to be working the portal to find a replacement for Devin Leary, and the Wildcats already have a number of potential options to pursue in a quarterback-rich portal class.
Sheron played high school football at Somerset (Ky.) High School, where he was a three-star prospect. He was the No. 896 overall recruit in the 2021 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
