Kentucky running back Chip Trayanum has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. Trayanum transferred to Kentucky from Ohio State ahead of the 2024 campaign but only played in three games after suffering a broken hand before the season.

In his three appearances, Trayanum recorded 19 carries for 101 yards. In the 2023 season at Ohio State, Trayanum appeared in 12 games for the Buckeyes and was the team’s second-leading rusher, tallying 373 rushing yards and three touchdowns on 85 carries.

In total, Trayanum played two seasons at Ohio State and spent two seasons at Arizona State to begin his collegiate career. Trayanum amassed 692 yards and 10 touchdowns on 127 carries during his two seasons with the Sun Devils.

Chip Trayanum played high school football at Archbishop Hoban (OH), where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall recruit and No. 28 running back in the 2020 recruiting cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

Trayanum’s decision leaves Kentucky’s running back room in a difficult position. The Wildcats didn’t sign any running back prospects out of high school this year and now only have three scholarship RBs on the roster.

Since Kentucky concluded its 4-8 regular season, 15 Wildcats have entered, or announced their plans to enter, the NCAA Transfer Portal. For the complete list of Kentucky players hitting the portal, look below.
