Dominika Paurova made an impact last season for the Oregon State Beavers on the hardwood. This offseason, she decided to transfer to the Kentucky Wildcats. Unfortunately, in international competition on Sunday night, she suffered what appeared to be a serious knee injury vs. Iceland.

Check out the footage of it below.

During her freshman season in Corvallis, Paurova averaged 5.5 points and 2.1 rebounds per game while also shooting 37.2% from three-point range. Her best outing actually came in the first round of the NCAA Tournament when she scored 17 points on 6-8 (3-4 3PT) shooting against Eastern Washington.

Before she arrived at Oregon State, she was a main contributor for the Czech Republic National Team. She even averaged 9.9 points and 6.3 rebounds per game for the U20 squad as the youngest player on the court.

Additionally, Paurova was a candidate to be the MVP of the 2022 U18 FIBA European Championships where she averaged 14.7 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. Despite her youth, Paurová has proven time and time again that she can get the job done.

This season, she’ll join a loaded backcourt as a highly valuable depth piece. She’ll get to learn from the likes of Jordan Obi before she rides off into the sunset. Then, competing against Lexi Blue and the rest of the backcourt in practice will only help her in her development.

Paurová may be coming off the bench this season, but expect her to be a big contributor for the ‘Cats in a year or two.

This season, Kentucky finished with a 12-20 overall record and a 4-12 record in the SEC. The Wildcats won their first game in the 2024 SEC Tournament over the Georgia Bulldogs. They won that one 64-50 but lost their next game to the Tennessee Volunteers by double digits.

The Oregon State women’s basketball team put together an impressive record of 27-8 overall this year. They finished 12-6 in the final season of what was known as the Pac-12 Conference. The Beavers advanced all the way to the Elite Eight in the 2024 NCAA Tournament, before falling to the eventual national champions, the South Carolina Gamecocks. Their 27-win season was good enough for the third most wins in program history.
