Kentucky Wildcats big man Oscar Tshiebwe announces new merchandise line
Kentucky Wildcats big man Oscar Tshiebwe just unveiled a new line of merchandise through the Kentucky brand. According to On3’s Kentucky team site, KSR the junior and 2022 winner of the John Wooden Award announced the new merch dropped while in Los Angeles to accept his Wooden Award. Tshiebwe’s merchandise will feature items such as t-shirts, sweatshirts, and even a mug with his name and face on it. Tshiebwe made the announcement with a post on his Twitter account.
It’s not clear whether or not the Wildcats’ big man will declare for the NBA draft this season. Tshiebwe has yet to make his intentions known on his next step as we enter the college basketball offseason. Tshiebwe has taken advantage of the new NIL rules whenever possible. Earlier in the year, he attempted to release merchandise through the Kentucky brand. However, his first attempt was thwarted due to a legal snag and had to be shut down.
Kentucky forward Bryce Hopkins opts to enter transfer portal
Kentucky forward Bryce Hopkins has entered the transfer portal, according to On3’s Matt Zenitz. The former four-star freshman came to the Wildcats as a top 50 recruit in the class of 2021.

Bryce Hopkins appeared in 28 games in his one season before choosing to enter the transfer portal. He averaged just 2.1 points and 1.4 rebounds in 6.5 minutes per game. Despite limited minutes, he shot 42.9 percent from the field and 31.3 percent from the 3-point line.

“I’ve always wanted to play for Kentucky growing up and it came true,” Hopkins wrote in a statement. “I can’t thank the Big Blue Nation enough for embracing me like you did. There are so many memories that I will keep with me forever.”
The former four-star recruit ranked No. 38 in the 2021 class and second in his home state of Illinois. He initially chose Kentucky over Michigan, Oregon and others. Hopkins also holds great NIL value, ranking No. 78 in college basketball with a value of $34,000 thanks to his 32,000 followers.
