Report: Kentucky running back Chris Rodriguez could see charges dropped due to 'extenuating circumstances'
Kentucky running back Chris Rodriguez appears to be in hot water after he failed to appear in court for his DUI case. With Rodriguez missing the court date, an immediate warrant was issued for his arrest. However, according to Matt Jones of Kentucky Sports Radio, there is more to the story than what meets the eye.
“(You) May wanna hold off judgment on Chris Rodriguez not showing up in court. Hearing some extenuating circumstances that have nothing to do with Chris. I suspect that charge gets dropped,” wrote Jones via Twitter.
According to a local Lexington news station, Rodriguez is facing multiple charges. The two most significant charges were operating a vehicle under the influence and careless driving, according to Lex 18 News.
At this time, there is no further word on what extenuating circumstances played a role in the current situation involving the Rodriguez case. It could be a list of things, including a motion filed on the behalf of Rodriguez, or as Jones speculated, the charges could get dropped. But for now, it appears that the arrest warrant issued for the Wildcats’ running back might be temporarily put on hold.
