Kentucky’s season in the SEC may be over but two games remain on the schedule, beginning with New Mexico State. It will be Senior Day in Lexington, with Wildcats seniors playing at Kroger Field for the last time.

For four-year players, they will have gone through one of the greatest stretches in program history. A win on Saturday would be eight wins on the season. Seniors would have three years of at least wins and an overall 30-17 record. Even with a lesser opponent, there is a ton to play for.

The uniform combo for New Mexico State was announced on Friday afternoon. Kentucky will rock white helmets with a blue jersey and blue pants. On the shoulders will be white and blue checkers. You can check it out here:

Nex Mexico State will be playing an SEC opponent for the second consecutive week, coming off a 59-3 loss to Alabama.

Kentucky’s Mark Stoops contacted by LSU for job

According to Matt Jones of On3’s Kentucky Sports Radio, LSU has contacted Kentucky head coach Mark Stoops for their head coaching job. He said if offered, it would be tough for Stoops to turn down the opportunity.

“Mark Stoops has been contacted via a third party for the LSU job,” Jones reported. “I think there are — and I speak about this not with complete knowledge, but some knowledge — there are probably seven jobs or less that I think Mark Stoops would seriously consider leaving here for. I think LSU is one of those seven.”

Stoops has been one of, if not the greatest head coach in Kentucky football history. Before he took over, the Wildcats had seen eight wins once in the 21st century and only five winning seasons.

Since then, Kentucky has turned it around, reaching as high as 10 wins in 2018 and appearing in the Citrus Bowl. Since 2016, every season has seen a winning record, barring the COVID-19 filled 2020 season.
