Kentucky forward Zvonimir Ivisic has entered his name into the transfer portal.

Ivisic, a 7’2 product out of Croatia, spent this one season with the Wildcats. He committed to the program late in August before a drawn out process led it to take some time before he could arrive on campus or even compete on the team. Still, he eventually arrived in the bluegrass on October 12th and then, after a well-documented NCAA matter caused him to miss the first part of the season, made his debut on January 20th.

Over 15 appearances for UK, Ivisic averaged 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds, and 1.3 blocks while shooting 57.7% overall and 37.5% from three.

That included an electric first game against Georgia where he went off for 13 points, five rebounds, three blocks, two steals, and two assists. It stunned the audience as he checked in in his first collegiate game and immediately got going, including a 5-7 (71.5) finish from the field as he made three of his four three-point attempts. He also had an 18-point outing with five rebounds and four blocks in a win over Alabama and a 12-point, nine-rebound performance in a victory against Arkansas as the highlights of his freshman year with the Wildcats.

Ivisic hails from Vodice, Croatia. In his two seasons prior to coming to the United States, he played for SC Derby out of Montenegro. He also suited up for his home country in the FIBA U20 European Championship.

That career in Europe is why many wondered what Ivisic’s future would be either in college or the pros. He had tested twice before for previous NBA Drafts and hoped to use this season at Kentucky as a launching point for him to make that move.

Ivisic joined as the final part of the No. 1 class for Kentucky in On3’s 2023 Industry Basketball Team Recruiting Rankings. It was an eight-man group that made up several high-profile contributors for the team this season, including Reed Sheppard and Rob Dillingham. It also included Justin Edwards, who declared for the 2024 NBA Draft.

Now, Ivisic is one of the Wildcats who will be leaving the program following the departure of John Calipari.
