LOOK: Kentucky drops uniform combination for Mississippi State matchup
Kentucky released its uniforms for the weekend matchup against Mississippi State on Friday afternoon, and the Wildcats are looking pretty sharp.
The Wildcats will be going with the blue helmets, white jerseys with blue numbers and blue pants. The graphic above is well done by the Kentucky football Twitter account, so it’s clear what type of uniforms will be worn.
These uniforms are nice looking, but apparently they have brought bad luck under head coach Mark Stoops. The Wildcats are just 5-17 when donning the white jerseys and blue pants under Stoops, easily the worst of any uniform under the talented head coach.
It’s the first time this season Kentucky will be wearing this uniform combination. The Wildcats currently sit at 6-1 overall and are ranked inside the top 15.
Kentucky and their playmakers
The big matchup of the Kentucky-Mississippi State game this weekend will undoubtedly be Wildcats running back Chris Rodriguez Jr. against a very stout Mississippi State run defense.
Rodriguez has over 770 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground this season. The Mississippi State run defense has been very, very good all season long. They’re currently only allowing 93 rushing yards per game, ranking them 11th in the nation in that category.
The Bulldogs have been a very inconsistent team this fall, but welcome to college football this season, it’s been as wild and as unpredictable as it’s ever been.

Mississippi State has upset Texas A&M, but then lost 31-29 to Memphis.
Bulldogs quarterback Will Rogers threw a ridiculous 67 pass attempts in the Memphis game, but such passing numbers are quite common under head coach Mike Leach, who has demonstrated his affinity in moving the football through the air during his college football coaching career.
Kentucky will certainly be looking to get the ball in the hands of wide receiver Wan’Dale Robinson, one of the most electrifying players in all of college football.
