Savannah (Ga.) Jenkins three-star EDGE Lorenzo Cowan has decommitted from the Kentucky Wildcats. Cowan originally pledged to UK on September 10.
it was really tough,” Cowan told On3. “I have had relationships with Kentucky for over two years. I have a really tight bond with those guys. This wasn’t easy. Coach Collins and I are super tight, coach White too.”
Going forward, Cowan named USC, USF and West Virginia as schools that he will consider in his recruitment.
“I feel this was best for me, though,” Cowan said. “I had some talks with my family and this is the right decision.”

Cowan added more about his decision on social media.
“To the University of Kentucky I want to say thank you all for the opportunity and endless support you’ve provided for me over the past 2 years,” Cowan wrote. “I would like to thank Coach Stoops and the whole staff for giving me a home. I would like to give a special thanks to Coach Collins on the UK staff for recruiting me throughout this process. He has changed my family’s life drastically. Coach Collins has been on my side from the beginning and still remains, he has kept me knowledgeable in this process from start to finish. He’s helped guide me through rough times and praised me through the good. He is someone I can trust and will always consider family.
“I would also like to give a special thanks to Coach White on the UK staff. He has also walked me through my process and helped me understand the importance of being who you say you are.
“With that being said, my family and I have decided that it’s best for me to de-commit from the University of Kentucky.”
