Mark Stoops and Kentucky have an uphill battle on their hands this week. After Vanderbilt upset them at Kroger Field last weekend, they’ll now have to prepare themselves for the best team in the land as Georgia comes to Lexington on Saturday. With that said, Stoops says they can’t treat their next game against the Bulldogs any differently than any other game.

Stoops spoke about how UK is preparing for Georgia during his press conference on Monday. He says they obviously realize how good their opponent is and that it will take the right mindset to compete. Even so, they’re going to attack this week the same as every other week.

“We prepare the same way every week,” Stoops said. “We all understand that it’s a real challenge. It’s a team that’s very deep and very physical. So, obviously, getting your team and getting their minds right to go out and have a very good week of preparation is where it starts.”

Kentucky has some confidence considering how they played down in Athens a year ago. However, that Top-15 Wildcat team still lost by nearly 20. If that’s how well they fared in 2021, this UK team that is out of sorts with a 2-4 stretch in their last six may be in for a long afternoon against Kirby Smart’s squad.

Stoops and Kentucky have earned the benefit of the doubt with their success over the last five seasons. Still, the Wildcat team from the last few weeks can’t be the team that shows up against Georgia. Having a chance against the top Dawgs will take UK’s best. That starts with great preparation that Stoops and his staff will get their team focused on over the course of this week.
