Mark Stoops tabs DeAndre Square as doubtful for Missouri game
Kentucky football was in need of some good news after their loss in Knoxville last weekend. However, several key injuries left the possibility of that up in the air. During his press conference on Monday, Stoops did not have a positive update either with the new status of linebacker DeAndre Square.
Square suffered a right ankle injury against the Volunteers. Per Ryan Black of the Courier-Journal, Stoops has now officially designated the graduate senior as doubtful for the Wildcat’s upcoming road trip to Missouri this Saturday.
Losing Square would be a massive blow to the Kentucky defense. That’s not only because of his production with 55 tackles, three pass deflections, a sack, and an interception. His experience also makes him the signal caller for the Wildcats on that side of the football. His absence over the course of their loss to Tennessee was felt immensely. Without Jacquez Jones either, the linebacker corps for UK is as shallow as it’s been all season.
There’s still a week before Kentucky makes the trip to Columbia to face the Tigers. However, this wasn’t the update those in Lexington were hoping for with Square as one of their key, experienced pieces. It’s imperative they try to find a way to win without him, though, so as to avoid their fourth loss in five games.

Kentucky updates depth chart for next game at Missouri
The Wildcats are licking their wounds after a tough loss to Tennessee. Before they take their talents to Missouri this Saturday, Mark Stoops has unveiled a new edition of the Kentucky depth chart.
There is one significant change. DeAndre Square is absent from the Kentucky depth chart after the super senior linebacker suffered an injury in the first quarter against Tennessee. With Jacquez Jones also sidelined, the Wildcats may be without their two starting inside linebackers for the foreseeable future. Ty Ajian appears to be available after he suffered an injury, while Kavosiey Smoke is no longer listed on the two-deep.
