No. 1 ranked point guard Robert Dillingham commits to Kentucky
Class of 2023 five-star point guard Robert Dillingham has committed to Kentucky, a source told On3.
The 6-foot-2, 165-pound prospect becomes the Wildcats’ second commitment to the class, joining four-star combo guard Reed Sheppard (No. 30). Dillingham is from Charlotte, N.C., but transferred to Kanye West’s Donda Academy (CA) prior to his junior year.
Dillingham originally committed to the NC State Wolfpack in December of last year before reopening in March. He also considered Auburn, Louisville, USC, and others before landing on Kentucky this time around.
He is ranked as the No. 3 overall prospect in the class of 2023, according to the On3 Consensus — a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. Dillingham also ranks as the No. 1 point guard.

Dillingham talks Kentucky
In a previous interview with On3, Dillingham discussed the Kentucky Wildcats.
“I’ve been talking to Coach Chin (Coleman) and Coach Cal and it’s really the same love,” Dillingham said. “There’s not too much to explain about Kentucky because it’s a pro school. A lot of people go there to be pros. I feel like Coach Cal wants his players to go one-and-done if they get the chance. That’s what I like about the school. It’s a school for pros, honestly.”
Scouting Summary
It’s the buckets. Dillingham has a microwave ability that has been unmatched, to this point, by any of his classmates. While the 6-foot-3 guard is an average athlete and has average size and length for a shooting guard, it is his craft and his confidence that allows him to get hot. Dillingham can manufacture space off the bounce and get his shot off with the slightest of room. He is a below-average defender. While it is all centered around skill, there is an electric nature to his game. He can get hot in the blink of an eye and his next shot is always the best shot. Dillingham will need strength, and with that may come more explosion. – On3’s Jamie Shaw, National Recruiting Analyst
