North Texas WR Ja'Mori Maclin, former Mizzou player, commits to Kentucky

Kentucky has landed a commitment from star North Texas wide receiver Ja’Mori Maclin, who had entered the transfer portal following a 1,000-yard season with the Mean Green in 2023. Maclin’s commitment was shared by On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Maclin began his career at Missouri, where he caught just one total pass for five yards during two years, which prompted a transfer to North Texas ahead of the 2022 season. Last fall in ’22, Maclin caught on well, emerging as a strong member of the wideout rotation with 380 total receiving yards and two touchdowns on the year. Then, in 2023, Maclin returned to lead the WR room, posting 1,004 yards on 57 catches through the regular season, good for an explosive 17.6 yards per grab.

Ja’Mori Maclin played high school football at Kirkwood (IL), where he was a three-star prospect in the class of 2020, per the On3 Industry Rankings. He was also rated as the No. 502 overall player and the No. 7 recruit out of Missouri for his cycle.
