Ohio State transfer RB Chip Trayanum commits to Kentucky

Ohio State Buckeyes running back Chip Trayanum is transferring to the Kentucky Wildcats. He announced the news on Tuesday morning.

Prior to making the decision, Trayanum took a visit to Lexington to check out Kentucky. That visit must have gone well, with the Wildcats landing one of the best available running backs in the transfer portal. He has another season of eligibility after spending his first four collegiate seasons at Ohio State.

While with the Buckeyes, Trayanum was overshadowed at times by TreVeyon Henderson. Still, Trayanum proved to be an excellent running back during his time with the Buckeyes. In 2023, he carried the ball 85 times for 373 yards and three touchdowns.

Trayanum played high school football at Archbishop Hoban (OH) High School, where he was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall recruit in the 2020 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

For Kentucky, the hope is that Chip Trayanum can replace the production of Ray Davis as he moves on to the next level.
