On3 Consensus 4-star Deone Walker commits to Kentucky
Four-star defensive lineman of Deone Walker of Detroit Cass Tech announced his commitment to Kentucky on Signing Day.
The 6-foot-6, 357-pound four-star prospect picked Kentucky over Michigan, Georgia, Missouri, Penn State and a long list of other offers. In the end, Deone Walker said his finalists were Kentucky, Michigan and Georgia.
During the 2021 season, Walker took game visits to Michigan, Missouri, Georgia and Kentucky. Alabama was also in the mix, although the Crimson Tide didn’t come on until late and didn’t push hard to secure his commitment. Walker was in Lexington when the Wildcats upset then-No. 10 Florida at Kroger Field in early October.
Deone Walker is ranked as the No. 261 player in the country, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
