Rams offensive coordinator Liam Coen unsure of Kentucky return despite reports
The Los Angeles Rams have had just about the worst possible year you could imagine since winning the Super Bowl. They’re on their third starting quarterback this year, haven’t been in the Playoff Picture in a month and may be losing their offensive coordinator after just one season.
That OC, Liam Coen, came to LA by way of Kentucky, where he was the offensive coordinator in 2021. According to reports a few weeks ago, Coen was apparently going to leave the Rams and head back to Kentucky to re-join Mark Stoops’ staff. However, Coen has not said anything publicly — which those same reports said he wasn’t able to do until the NFL season. So LAR isn’t letting him say he’s going to Kentucky.
Thursday provided more updates in the offensive coordinator’s dramatic winter. According to Rams writer Jourdan Rodrigue, Coen wants to take some time after the year to evaluate which move is best for his future.

“Rams OC Liam Coen says he has not yet made a decision about whether he’s going back to Kentucky, though offer is on the table for him to do so. He wants to finish out the season with his guys and then take a few days with his family after that to consider what will be best.”
Certainly sounds like his mind isn’t made up based on those words. However, with Coen not being able to say anything regarding Kentucky, perhaps this is just him giving some coach speak as to not tip his hat to what his actual offseason plans are.
Time will tell whether he’s back in blue next fall.
