Report: Andrew Carr withdraws from 2024 NBA Draft, will play at Kentucky
Another Kentucky transfer commit has officially decided to pull out of the 2024 NBA Draft and return to college to play for Mark Pope.
According to college hoops insider Jon Rothstein, former Wake Forest forward and Kentucky commit Andrew Carr is returning to school and will head to Lexington. Here was Rothstein’s tweet with that news:
“Andrew Carr tells me that he will withdraw from the 2024 NBA Draft and play next season at Kentucky. Transfer from Wake Forest.”
Carr now joins Lamont Butler and Amari Williams as Kentucky transfers who have announced on Tuesday their intentions to return to college.
Carr played high school basketball at West Chester East in West Chester (PA) where he was an unranked, unrated recruit in the 2020 cycle according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

But after entering the transfer portal this offseason, Carr was a four-star college prospect ranked as the No. 131 overall player and the No. 24 small forward available in the portal this offseason according to On3’s College Basketball Transfer Portal Top Player Rankings.
Carr spent the first two seasons of his college career at Delaware where he averaged 9.1 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.5 assists, and a block per game. He was also named to the CAA All-Tournament Team in 2022 and scored 13 points in the NCAA Tournament against Villanova before transferring to Wake Forest.
With the Demon Deacons, Carr started in all 68 of his game appearances, averaging 10.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and .9 blocks per game as a junior before upping his production this past season, posting a career-high 13.5 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 1.5 blocks per game in a standout year. He also recorded 10 double-doubles during his time in Winston-Salem.
The 6-foot-8 forward joins the Wildcats with 117 career games played under his belt along with 1,286 points, 664 rebounds, and 133 blocks in his four-year college career. He brings plenty of experience along with him as he joins Amari Williams, Lamont Butler, Jr., and Otega Oweh as just a few of the players to join Kentucky through the transfer portal this offseason ahead of year one under new head coach Mark Pope.
