Kentucky wide receiver Shamar Porter has withdrawn from the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned. He entered the portal Dec. 4.

Porter took a redshirt this season and didn’t record a stat as a freshman. He suffered an ankle injury during fall camp, according to KSR’s Nick Roush, and that got in the way of his development during his first year with Kentucky.

The Wildcats have seen a handful of players enter the portal, but they also made a big splash by landing former Georgia quarterback Brock Vandagriff. He is currently the No. 18-ranked player to enter the portal so far this cycle, according to the On3 Industry Transfer Rankings. That appears to be part of UK’s plan to replace Devin Leary, who ran out of eligibility.

A product of Ensworth (TN) High School, Shamar Porter was a four-star prospect. He was the No. 285 overall recruit in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
