Tayvion Robinson jokes when talking about Will Levis, his arm strength

It took Tayvion Robinson some time to get used to Kentucky quarterback Will Levis, but the two have finally starting to click with just a few days until the season kicks off.
A transfer receiver from Virginia Tech, Robinson said Wednesday working with Levis this offseason has been “an adjustment.” In particular, Robinson had to get acclimated to the speed and power with which Levis releases the ball.
“Just the velocity he throws the ball with,” Robinson said of his quarterback. “It’s insane. You can hear the ball through the air. He can rip a ball 30 or 40 yards down the field. It’s impressive. Just working with him, I’ve kind of gotten used to him.
“…Coming in and out of routes, you definitely have to get your head around quick because he delivers it fast. When he knows who he’s throwing to, he gets the ball to them. It has been a development. My first camp, I think I might’ve jammed all 10 of my fingers. It’s just an adjustment thing.”

Robinson is the No. 7 receiver according to On3’s Transfer Portal Rankings. He led the Hokies in receiving each of the past two seasons while also serving as the team’s primary punt returner. With UK set to lose it’s top two receivers from a year ago, Robinson will now have a chance to lead the Wildcats receiving corps.

Levis also enters the year with high expectations after leading Kentucky to just the fourth 10-win season in program history. He threw for 2,826 yards and 24 touchdowns this past season, and was even projected as the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft this offseason.
Now that he has gotten used to his arm strength, Tayvion Robinson said he has been impressed by Will Levis so far this preseason. The pair will hope to show off their chemistry starting with the season opener against Miami (OH) at 7 p.m. ET on Saturday in Lexington.
“I feel like I have a wow moment every day,” Robinson said. “I feel like everyone’s seen it, but the way he throws the ball, there’s not too many guys who can throw it that way with the strength he has and the cannon. It’s been an adjustment. It is tough catches passes from him, but the more I get chemistry with him, the more I work with him we get on the same page.
“He always texts me that he wants to get in work. He’s coming up here throwing. If he sees something in a play, we talk a lot and always try to make sure we’re on the same page and have that chemistry down as much as possible going into Week 1.”
