UCF tight end Elijah Brown commits to transfer to Kentucky.

UCF Knights tight end Elijah Brown has committed to transfer to the Kentucky Wildcats, per On3’s Pete Nakos. He previously played for the Alabama Crimson Tide and FAU Owls.
Elijah Brown played his high school football at Wayne in Dayton, Ohio. There, he was a four-star recruit in the Class of 2022. He was the 252nd-ranked player overall and the 11th-ranked tight end in that recruiting cycle.
Following the 2024 season, Elijah Brown entered the Transfer Portal and landed at UCF. However, following the spring, he made the decision to re-enter the portal. Eventually, he’d land with the Kentucky Wildcats.
In 2022, Elijah Brown played his freshman season with the Alabama Crimson Tide. However, he did not see any game action that season and ended up taking a redshirt. That offseason he’d transfer to FAU where he spent the next two seasons of his career. That gives him two more seasons of eligibility remaining in his college career.
For his career, Elijah Brown has made one reception for 22 yards. That came in FAU’s November loss to Charlotte in the 2024 season.

Following the 2024 season, FAU underwent a coaching change with the program moving on from Tom Herman. He left and landed at UCF, another school making a coaching change by bringing back Scott Frost to run the program. However, he left before ever playing a game with the Knights and will instead have the opportunity to return to the SEC by playing for Mark Stoops at Kentucky.
The Kentucky Wildcats are coming off a frustrating 4-8 season in 2024. It was the team’s worst record since Stoops’ first season with the program in 2013. It also snapped an eight-season streak of going to bowl games for Kentucky. Now, the Wildcats are looking to find a way to bounce back from that. The Transfer Portal has also become a tool in doing so.
Kentucky currently has the 13th-ranked transfer class in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 College Football Team Transfer Portal Rankings. That’s with a class that has 31 players exiting the program and another 22 entering it. However, that number doesn’t yet include Elijah Brown. He’s one of 15 offensive players and two tight ends Kentucky is bringing in.
