WATCH: Kentucky basketball assistant KT Turner hits trick shot during practice
Things couldn’t have gone better for Kentucky to start their Bahamas trip on Wednesday. Fans watched as the Wildcats kicked off their foreign tour with a 108-56 victory over the Dominican Republic National Team. Those good fortunes carried over to today for assistant coach KT Turner.
Kentucky ends every shoot-around with a halfcourt shooting contest. Turner was the winner on Thursday with his banking, midcourt heave.
Illinois State transfer Antonio Reeves also banked it in during his first shootaround with Kentucky ahead of the first game. As the newcomer to the Wildcat bench, Turner has welcomed himself to the competition with the first make of the year from the coaching staff ahead of UK’s second game from the Baha De Mar Resort in Nassua. That match versus Tec De Monterry will tip off tonight at 7 p.m. EST and can be watched on the SEC Network.
WATCH: Daimion Collins posterizes two defenders during Kentucky Bahama’s opener
It’s not every year that Big Blue Nation gets to enjoy a live Kentucky basketball game during August, and Daimion Collins is certainly making the most of it. The springy sophomore rattled the rim over two members of the Dominican Republic U-22 National Team Wednesday night during the Wildcats’ Big Blue Bahama’s trip.

As a freshman, the former consensus five-star recruit appeared in 27 games for the Wildcats. That included one start against North Florida where he dropped 12 points, six rebounds, and three blocks. That was arguably his best outing of the year. He averaged 2.9 points, 2.0 rebounds, and 0.7 blocks in just 7.4 minutes per contest, falling out of the rotation once SEC play rolled around.
Heading into the 2022 season, Collins will slide into a stretch four role for Kentucky, as Wooden Award winner Oscar Tshiebwe will man the paint down low. Collins will share time with fellow power forward Jacob Toppin – someone else who is capable of highlight reel dunks as well.
Catch the remainder of Kentucky’s opening game in the Bahama’s live on the SEC Network or ESPN+.
