Will Levis enters this upcoming season with high expectations in regards to the 2023 NFL Draft. The Kentucky quarterback is projected as a top 10 prospect by many draft pundits, with one CBS Sports analyst even going as far as to predict him the No. 1 pick.

In spite of this, Levis isn’t letting the hype get to his head. The Wildcats signal caller knows how quickly mock drafts can change throughout the course of the season, and joked about his lofty preseason status in a recent appearance on Pardon My Take.

“It’s going really, really well right now,” he said. “We were all back on campus working out and it’s been good to see the guys and get things going. I’ve seen all the mock drafts and it’s pretty cool. As PFT said, we know historically that all of those are 100% accurate. So that’s pretty cool to have that in the back pocket now. But no, it’s a lot of cool energy right now and vibes, but you kind of just have to put all that outside noise behind you and focus on the main thing. The main thing right now is just working with the dudes.”

Levis has plenty of competition this upcoming season to claim the title of college football’s best passer. Alabama quarterback Bryce Young currently holds that title according to On3’s Impact 300 list, which ranks the best players in college football. Levis is No. 7 on the list.

After transferring to Kentucky from Penn State this past season, Levis took over as the starter and helped lead the Wildcats to a 10-win season for just the fourth time in school history. He finished the year with 2,826 yards passing, 24 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Considering that was just his first full season as a college starter, those in Lexington expect even more improvement in 2022.

If that happens, it seems Will Levis could legitimately have a chance to be taken within the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft. For now though, the goal remains continuing to build this Wildcats football team. The goal this season is an SEC championship, and Kentucky will kick off the year on Sept. 3 against Miami (OH).
