Kentucky quarterback Will Levis made a name for himself both on and off the field last season. On the gridiron, he led the Wildcats to a 10-3 record and a Citrus Bowl victory in his first season with the program. Off the field, though, he became known for something completely different.

Throughout the year, the storyline around Levis’ interesting eating habits continuously grew. The first was a TikTok video of Levis eating a banana…peel and all.

Later on, another TikTok came out of him stirring mayonnaise…into his coffee.

The videos became synonymous with Levis throughout the season. During the recent ‘Pardon My Take’ takeover on Kentucky Sports Radio, he joined the show and said the videos were complete backfires.

“When that all came out, it was pretty crazy,” said Levis. “When I got the starting job last year, some fans tried to troll me on Twitter saying, “This is your starting quarterback? Going and doing this nonsense?”

While some fans were disgusted by the Wildcat QB’s food choices, it became a running joke about Levis on the game calls. Some media members were even trying his food hacks live on air during the pregame shows or during Kentucky games. Once it got going, Levis couldn’t believe what he’d started.

“It actually backfired and got me a lot more good press than anything,” he said. “It was pretty funny seeing the guys on SEC Network and GameDay with Finebaum and Tebow eating banana peels. I’m over here (saying) like what have I done?”

While he hasn’t added any new food quirks to his repertoire, it’s still something that’s followed him heading into his senior season. Regardless of the questioning or the concerned looks, Levis says he still enjoys his peculiar food habits from time to time.

“I definitely from time to time still eat the bananas with the peel on. (I’m) definitely a psycho. Anyone close to me can tell you that.”
