Will Levis became a fan favorite in Lexington over his two seasons as quarterback of the Kentucky Wildcats. Now, as he’s on the cusp of becoming one of the football program’s highest-drafted players ever, he shared one last message to the fanbase from Kansas City.

UK Football’s Twitter page shared the video from Levis this afternoon as he expressed his thanks and appreciation for the school and the opportunity they gave him. He says he knows he’ll ‘always have family in Kentucky’ and that he can’t wait to be back in the bluegrass soon.

“I’ve got to say thank you so much to Big Blue Nation for welcoming me with open arms and just showing me love and support. I know I’ve got a family back in Kentucky regardless of what happens with my career,” said Levis. “I mean my two years in Kentucky were two of the best years of my life. And I have so many people to thank that helped shepherd me to where I am today.”

“So thank you so much Big Blue Nation and I can’t wait to visit Kroger Field again sometime soon,” Levis said.

Levis transferred to UK after spending time to start his collegiate career at Penn State. He then put himself on the map in his junior year and did his best to keep his stock high over a more difficult senior season. In the end, though, he leaves Kentucky with 5,232 passing yards and 54 total touchdowns (43 passing, 11 rushing).

It seems the buzz has died down regarding Levis’ chances to go No. 1 to Carolina. Even so, joining Tim Couch in UK’s record books as one of the highest-drafted quarterbacks in the history of the program won’t be too shabby for the product out of Connecticut now turned native of Kentucky.

Mark Stoops, Liam Coen make final pitch for Will Levis on NFL Network

The NFL Network is providing wall-to-wall NFL Draft coverage and a big part of that is Will Levis. Before the former Wildcat hears his name called by Roger Goodell in Kansas City, Mark Stoops and Liam Coen joined the network to share why they believe his next team is getting a franchise quarterback.

“(Levis) is one of those guys that really is the full package,” Mark Stoops told Andrew Siciliano. “You start with his competitiveness. He’s over the top. He comes in this building to train, to work each and every day. He has command of an organization.

“He’s a guy that can walk in and be a leader right away. After transferring here, he understands it takes some time to prove yourself, to find your voice. But, once he does that, he’s the complete package. Somebody’s going to get one heck of a quarterback. And a franchise guy that’s going to be there for a long time.”

“Absolutely, (Levis) can make every single throw,” Coen shared with Peter Schrager on Good Morning Football. “He’s going to be the first one in, last one to leave. If you want to have somebody that’s going to be in the organization, truly trying to make everybody better around him and has the ability to do so?Ultimately, that’s what you look at it in a franchise quarterback. Do they have the physical traits? And some of the personality traits you’re looking for to be able to elevate an organization? He has those traits.”
