Wyoming transfer defensive tackle Jaden Williams commits to Kentucky Wildcats
Wyoming transfer defensive tackle Jaden Williams committed to the Kentucky Wildcats on Friday night. He announced the news on his Twitter page. In the 2024 season, he finished with 20 tackles and 0.5 sacks. In 2023, Williams played in five games for the Cowboys, tallying two tackles, including one sack against Texas Tech.
The defensive tackle was slated to visit Georgia this weekend. In the past three years, he’s tallied 25 tackles. Williams becomes the 11th transfer portal commitment for the Wildcats this cycle. He’s only the third commitment on the defensive side of the football. Kentucky is hosting a number of portal prospects this weekend, so we’ll have to see which ones they land in the next few days.
Kentucky is looking to upgrade their roster for the 2025 campaign. They went 4-8 overall this year, but narrowly lost a 13-12 game to the Georgia Bulldogs, which ended up being their best performance this season. The Wildcats led that game for the first three quarters, before the top-ranked Bulldogs rallied for a 13-12 win. UK got a career-high 98 rushing yards from Demie Sumo-Karngbaye. He finished with 22 carries, which were also a career-high.
