Jose Torres hits hilariously disrespectful batflip, celebration following HR vs. Texas
Louisiana is trying to stay alive in their elimination game against Texas in the Bryan-College Station Regional. C Jose Torres did his part to help the Ragin’ Cajuns do just that at Blue Bell Park this afternoon.
Louisiana poured it on at the top of the eighth inning with a pair of three-run home runs against the Longhorns. That included one from Torres to start, which also came with a flip of his bat by the time that he came out of his swing.

Three other singles had led to their scores off of RBIs to that point. However, come the eighth inning, Louisiana sent it out of Olsen Field twice for a total of six runs. Torres hit his before Bryan Broussard did the same with a 455-foot one. That all pushed a 2-1 lead going into the frame into a 9-2 one by the end of it.
This was Torres’ third homer of this season in his first year with Louisiana. This comes after spending the first two seasons of his career at a junior college in San Jacinto College.
If the eight-run lead were to hold, Louisiana would go on to play Texas A&M. They’d have to win both matchups with the Aggies later tonight and tomorrow in order to advance to a potential berth in the Super Regionals.

SEMO defeats Arkansas, advances to final of Fayetteville Regional
One of the best teams in college baseball in 2024 campaign is officially going home early in the NCAA Baseball Tournament.
The No. 5 overall seed, the Arkansas Razorbacks, saw their postseason dreams go up in the smoke the past two days. The SEMO Redhawks officially eliminated on Sunday with a 6-3 win in the Fayetteville Regional.
With Arkansas being eliminated, that officially means the winner of the Charlottesville Regional will be the host for next weekend’s Super Regional matchup.
Arkansas going down early is definitely the biggest upset so far in the 2024 NCAA Baseball Tournament. While it doesn’t take away from the impressive regular season they accomplished, the sting is likely still fresh in everyone’s minds.
