Five-star linebacker TJ Capers of Miami (FL) Columbus High announced his commitment to Louisville Saturday afternoon.

The 6-foot-3, 230 pounder chose the Cardinals over Miami, Georgia, Colorado, and USC.

Capers on why he chose Louisville

“I feel like me and the other top recruits can change the program for a long time,” Capers said. “I trust what Coach Brohm has going on and I’m sure in the near future Louisville will be a powerhouse. Coach English’s scheme feels built for me to make plays, so I know I can put my talent on display all over the field.”

Relationship with coaching staff + how they plan on using Capers

“I keep in touch with Coach Brohm and Coach English,” Capers said. “They plan on using me all around the field such as moving from an outside backer to a middle backer, an edge rusher,  and also a backer to drop into coverage. Just using me in as many ways as possible to change the game.”

Not afraid to stick his face into traffic when playing in the box. Tested well this spring with an electronically-timed 4.62 40 and a 27” vertical. Three-sport athlete who plays basketball and participates in track and field. Checks every box for the inside backer position and has an enormously high floor and an even higher ceiling.”
