Jeff Brohm and his staff are looking to get Louisville properly involved with multiple blue-chip prospects in the 2025 cycle. That includes Miami Central four-star safety Amari Wallace, who was in the Bluegrass this weekend for a visit with the Cardinals.

There’s plenty of competition for Wallace’s pledge, but the Cards have been involved for some time and will look to pull the recruiting upset over the likes of Miami and Florida. Wallace says he will return to Louisville for an official visit.

“Had an amazing day at Louisville, want to thank the whole coaching staff, I will be up there again for my OV coming soon,” Wallace wrote on social media.

Wallace is the No. 200 overall prospect and No. 16 safety in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 31 player in Florida.

Miami is currently trending for the hometown recruit, according to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). Canes recruiting insider Stephen Wagner and On3 Director of Recruiting Chad Simmons have each logged picks in favor of Mario Cristobal landing Wallace’s pledge, though Louisville will look to remain involved until the end.

Louisville pushing for multiple top defensive backs

Many of the top prospects that have been on campus lately in Louisville have been defensive backs. Atlanta Douglass four-star safety Jontae Gilbert visited earlier this month, as did Miami (Fla.) Booker T. Washington four-star cornerback Ben Hanks. Each left impressive reviews of their trips.

“It was great,” Hanks said of his experience to On3’s Steve Wiltfong. “The football campus is amazing. Coaches are great and the practice was good. (They’re) in a good spot (for me) and I’ll definitely be back.”

“I mean they made a first great impression,” Gilbert said. “And Coach (Steve) Ellis and Coach (Ron) English is what really has me excited about this Louisville program, because of the guys they developed which we all know they have a background for having.

“My talk with Coach Brohm, he’s big on me, talked about my game and what he sees in me and my vision if I decide to be a part of his program.”

Earlier this week, Winston Salem (N.C.) Mount Tabor four-star safety JaDon Blair locked in an official visit with the Cardinals for April 17. He checks in at No. 43 overall and is the No. 2 safety and No. 3 player in North Carolina in the updated 2025 On300.
