4-star safety Jayden Davis decommits from Louisville
Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill four-star safety Jayden Davis has decommited from Louisville.
Davis had been committed to the Cardinals since February, but opted to back off his pledge after head coach Scott Satterfield left for Cincinnati.
“First and foremost, I want to thank God because without Him, nothing is possible,” he told On3. “Next, I want to thank my mom, my family, and my coaches for helping me make this extremely hard decision. Finally, I want to thank ALL of Card Nation for the continuous support that they have shown me over the past 11 months. With that being said, my family and I think it’s best to de-commit from the University of Louisville and re-open my recruitment.”
Along with Satterfield, Davis built a strong connection with assistant Derek Nicholson, who joined Satterfield’s staff at Cincinnati.

“I love the coaches. Coach Derek Nicholson, that’s my guy,” Davis said in February after his commitment. “So, when I got on campus I felt like I could live there and I could be happy there and I could succeed there. That was the moment where I felt I could pull the trigger and that’s where I wanted to go.”
He’ll now reopen his recruitment, though Cincinnati is trending as a major contender to land him. He visited the Bearcats last weekend, and his connection to Nicholson could pay off in a major way for the Bearcats as they look to add to their 2023 class.
