4-star small forward Devin Ree commits to Louisville
Devin Ree, a 6-foot-8 small forward out of Oak Hill (Va.) Academy has committed to Louisville for the class of 2022, he told On3.
“Today, I am pleased to announce that I have made the decision to continue to play the game I love under the leadership of Coach Kenny Payne at the University of Louisville,” Ree said to On3. “My commitment comes at a time where I am comfortable and confident knowing that this program meets all of my needs as a student-athlete and to me, being at Louisville feels like being at home. I am very excited to officially become a Louisville Cardinal, and I look forward to being on campus and getting to work academically and athletically.”
Ree is Louisville’s second commitment of the 2022 class, as he joins fellow four-star small forward, Kamari Lands.

After originally committing to LSU, Ree reopened his recruitment after former head coach Will Wade was fired for cause after the NCAA handed over its Notice of Allegations against the school, which included Level I and Level II infractions.
Ree, who is originally from Terry, Miss., is the No. 108 overall recruit in the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
Scouting Report
“Devin Ree is a premier shooter. He has long arms and good positional size, and when his feet are set, he is as pure a shooter as there is in the country. You see his size, which leads to the upside as a positional defender. You would like to see him develop off the bounce and continue to work on his strength and his frame. There is a lot there with the shooter and the floor spacing he brings. He has some natural athleticism and the frame, and he is not afraid of the moment.” – Jamie Shaw, On3’s National Recruiting Analyst
