4-star wide receiver Devaughn Mortimer flips to Louisville

Fort Lauderdale (Fla.) Dillard four-star wide receiver Devaughn Mortimer has flipped from Florida State, spurning the Seminoles for Louisville.
Mortimer went on an official visit last weekend to the Cardinals. He had orginally committed to Florida State on March 13.
The On3 Consensus – a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies – has Mortimer as the No. 328 overall player in the country, No. 40 player from the state of Florida and the No. 51 wide receiver in the cycle.

Devaughn Mortimer is the second player to flip from Florida State on National Signing Day after Five-Star Plus+ Suwanee (Ga.) Collins Hill athlete Travis Hunter flipped to Deion Sanders and Jackson State.
Hunter is the No. 1 player in country, according to the On3 Consensus,
“I can’t recall a 5-star prospect ever signing with an FCS program that was good to go academically,” On3 National Recruiting Analyst Gerry Hamilton said. “This is a huge, huge, huge win for Deion Sanders. Make no mistake, this places Sanders on the fast track to be a Power 5 head coach. And this is a devastating loss for Florida State. Not much shocks you in this business after 20-plus years. My jaw has been dropped. Incredible.”
