4-star LSU WR commit Joseph Stone sets official visit to Louisville
Fairburn (Ga.) Langston Hughes four-star wide receiver Joseph Stone has locked in an official visit to Louisville. He tweeted that he’ll be on campus June 9-11.
The 5-foot-10.5, 175-pound wideout is an LSU commit and has been committed to the Tigers since last July.
Stone is the No. 295 overall prospect and No. 49 wide receiver in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 34 player in Georgia.
Stone’s trip to Louisville will be his second as he visited for the first time on April 30. He started off the month with an official to UCF and is set to take another official visit to Texas on June 16.
“I’m still taking the process in,” Stone told On3’s Jeremy Johnson in May. “I’m locked in with LSU but I have some official visits set.”
Regarding Louisville, Stone told Johnson after the first visit that the Cardinals coaching staff was pushing hard to flip him from his pledge. Saying that it was ‘the red carpet treatment’, Johnson admits that he was impressed with everything he saw and was told during that first visit.
“Louisville is one of those schools that you shouldn’t overlook because they’re going to throw the ball,” Stone said. “The first football family of Lousiville is the new coach up there. There are going to be eyes on them up there. I think I’d be able to come in there, take over and actually be able to run the ACC.”

Stone also has family in the area. One of those family members is former Texas A&M signee Marquis Groves-Killibrew who transferred to Louisville.
“I have family up there and that’s something they’re really making me think about leaving and my family being there,” Stone told Johnson. “Marquis is my cousin, so having him to talk to and guide is big. People like Kevin Coleman, that’s my dog too.”
Louisville currently has the No. 23 class in the country and No. 3 class in the ACC with eight pledges. Of those eight pledges three are four-star recruits.
The Cardinals’ four-star commits include Miami (Fla.) Columbus linebacker TJ Capers, Homestead (Fla.) running back Isaac Brown and Saline (Mich.) tight end Dylan Mesman.
