Louisiana transfer CB Justin Agu commits to Louisville
Former Louisiana cornerback Justin Agu has committed to Louisville, via the NCAA Transfer Portal. Agu spent four seasons at Louisiana and will have one year of eligibility remaining.
Agu appeared in all 12 of the Ragin Cajuns’ regular season games this season, tallying 36 tackles, four passes defended and one fumble recovery. He had his best game of the 2024 campaign in Louisiana’s 51-30 win over Troy when he notched eight tackles and two pass deflections.
Last season, Agu made nine appearances, including three starts, and finished with 13 tackles, one pass breakup and one tackle for loss. Agu didn’t see any action in true freshman or redshirt freshman seasons.
Justin Agu played high school football at Dutchtown (LA), where he was an unranked prospect, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.
He is the 15th player Louisville has added via the NCAA Transfer Portal this offseason. The Cardinals have also lost 18 players and are currently ranked No. 30 in On3’s 2025 Team Transfer Portal Rankings.
Louisville finished this season with a 9-4 record, defeating Washington 35-35 in the Sun Bowl to conclude its season.
“There were some new faces mixed in with some some veterans, but they played hard to the end,” Louisville head coach Jeff Brohm said after the win. “While it wasn’t perfect, that’s what happens when you play good football teams.

“You got to just play hard, keep playing to the end, and hope that you come out with one more point than they did. That’s what we did.”
Now, Louisville will look to build on that momentum as it looks toward the 2025 campaign. With any luck, the Cardinals will return to the ACC Championship game, and perhaps even emerge victorious this time around.
The transfer portal officially opened on Dec. 7 and closed on Dec. 28, though players on teams still playing in the postseason will get an additional five-day window to enter the portal after their seasons end.
