Oxford (Ala.) three-star quarterback Mason Mims has committed to Louisville.

He chose the Cardinals while also holding offers from the likes of Pittsburgh, West Virginia and Mississippi State. He becomes the first commitment for Jeff Brohm and the Cards in the 2025 cycle.

Mims is the No. 484 overall prospect and No. 35 QB in the 2025 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking, a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He’s also the No. 22 player in Alabama.

He does not currently have an On3 NIL Valuation. The On3 NIL Valuation is the industry’s leading index that sets high school and college athletes’ projected annual value (PAV). The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.

Cards still with room in 2024 recruiting class

Mims kicks off Louisville’s 2025 class, but UofL still has plenty of room to fill out its 2024 class — which currently ranks just No. 50 in the nation, according to the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Ranking.

The Cardinals have 14 pledges in the class, headlined by Fairburn (Ga.) four-star wide receiver Joseph Stone Jr, a former LSU commit. He committed to Louisville on Nov. 4 and is the only prospect to join the fold since September. Stone is the No. 389 prospect and No. 64 wideout in the cycle.

“I’m from Atlanta but Louisville has been my second home my whole life. Mostly all my family lives in Louisville and Coach Brohm is an offensive genius,” Stone told On3 upon his commitment. “I know we both have what it takes to get me to that next level.”

Louisville’s five highest-ranked 2024 commits are all on the offensive side of the ball. Stone is flanked by a pair of running backs in Forsyth (Ga.) Mary Persons three-star Duke Watson and Homestead (Fla.) three-star Isaac Brown, while Saline (Mich.) three-star Dylan Mesman is the No. 25 tight end in the cycle. New Braunfels (Texas) Vandegrift three-star quarterback Deuce Adams is a top-600 recruit and the No. 33 signal-caller.

Other top commits for the Cardinals include: Tampa Catholic three-star defensive lineman Xavier Porter, Cleveland Glenville three-star interior offensive lineman Fred Johnson, Radcliff (Ky.) North Hardin three-star WR Shaun Boykins, Jacksonville Bolles School three-star linebacker Trent Carter and Noblesville (Ind.) three-star offensive tackle Ransom McDermott.
