Louisville forward Khani Rooths flips off Kentucky fans at halftime
The Louisville-Kentucky rivalry is always heated, and this year was no different. Louisville forward Khani Rooths flipped off Kentucky fans on his way to the locker room at halftime. The Cardinals were trailing the Wildcats, 46-40 at half, in a closely contested game. Here’s the video of Rooths as he’s walking to the locker room.
Kentucky won the game, 93-85, in a very high-scoring affair. It hasn’t taken UK head coach Mark Pope to get used to his new surroundings. And Pope has the Wildcats with a 10-1 overall record and a No. 5 national ranking.
Louisville finished with five players in double digit scoring, with Chucky Hepburn leading the way with 26 points. Terrence Edwards Jr. had 23 points on 5 of 7 shooting from three-point range. The Cardinals hit 14 of 39 shots from beyond-the-arc, connecting on 35.9% of them.
Kentucky also had five players in double figures, with Lamont Butler leading the way with 33 points. He drilled all six of his three-point attempts. Butler was also 10 of 10 from the field. He had 33 points, six assists, and three rebounds. The Wildcats’ second leading scorer was Otega Oweh, who chipped in 17 points, dished out three assists, and grabbed two steals.

Kentucky dominated Louisville on the glass, with a 41-31 edge. The Wildcats were also hot from beyond-the-arc, hitting 11 of their 21 three-point attempts. UK connected on 58.2% of their shots from the field. The Wildcats also dished out 23 assists.
Up next for Kentucky, they’ll face Ohio State (Saturday, Dec. 21). Up next for Louisville, they’ll face off against the Florida State Seminoles (Saturday, Dec. 21).
