Louisville football landed a commitment from transfer receiver Dee Wiggins, who has spent the past four seasons with the Miami Hurricanes. Wiggins made the news official with a post to his Twitter account Monday.

“Keep God first,” he wrote. “Excited to be with CardNation.”

Wiggins had his best year with the Hurricanes in 2020, posting 31 catches for 358 yards and three touchdowns. The redshirt junior recorded four catches for 25 yards through three games with the Hurricanes in 2021. He entered the transfer portal on Oct. 18, before the regular season had ended.

The transfer receiver from Miami wasn’t the only player Louisville landed Monday, however. Former JUCO and Tennessee running back Tiyon Evans also announced his intent to join the Cardinals for 2022. Splitting work in the backfield, he compiled 525 yards and six touchdowns with the Volunteers.

A former four-star recruit, Wiggins was the No. 73 receiver in the 2018 class according to On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies.

A full list of players who have entered the transfer portal has been compiled by On3’s Matt Zenitz.

The news comes on the same day Miami announced it would hire Mario Cristobal as its next head coach. He will take over for Manny Diaz, who finished with a 21-15 record in three seasons with the Hurricanes.

The Cardinals finished the year 6-6 under coach Scott Satterfield. The team announced last week that Satterfield would return for a fourth season as head coach in 2022. He has led them to bowl eligibility in two of his three seasons thus far, the lone exception being 2020.

Louisville is set to face Air Force in the First Responder Bowl at 3:15 p.m. ET on Dec. 28 in Dallas. Miami, which finished the year at 7-5, will take on Washington State in the Sun Bowl.
