Lee’s Summit (Mo.) Lee’s Summit North five-star defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri received an offer from Louisville on Monday. He announced the news over Twitter.

Nwaneri is the No. 7 overall prospect and No. 1 defensive lineman in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 1 player in Missouri.

On3 rates Nwaneri higher than other recruiting services, according to the Industry Comparison. Per the 2024 On300, Nwaneri is the No. 2 overall prospect in the country.

The 6-foot-6, 250-pound defender holds 32 offers. According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Oklahoma has a commanding lead for his commitment at 77.4%.

“I feel Oklahoma could be a place for me,” Nwaneri told On3’s Chad Simmons on March 5. “It is a place I could fit in and become a successful player at.”

“He is getting things back,” he added about Sooners head coach Brent Venables. “Oklahoma has a good recruiting class coming in and I think things are getting back on track. I think coach Venables has a great plan.”

Nwaneri visited Oklahoma on March 4 and Kansas State on March 9. He then traveled to LSU two days later.

“It was my first time being there and I got to see the campus a little bit, see the stadium and it was a good all-around time,” Nwaneri told On3’s Sam Spiegelman about the Tigers on March 14.

Nwaneri also spoke with Spiegelman about some of his other contenders.

Colorado: “I just wanna see how (Deion Sanders‘) vibe is in-person. I wanna get down there for the spring game, see how the guys move around and get a feel for it all around.”

Georgia: “I talk with Coach (Chidera Uzo-)Diribe. He’s a chill guy and we have regular conversations. They’re on top of college football right now. So getting down there, you hear a lot about it, what it’s like, but it’s different feeling it for yourself in person, so that will be great. I wanna pick their brains and spend time with them.”

Tennessee: “It was my first time being there (in January) and I got to see the campus a little bit, see the stadium and it was a good all-around time.”

Texas A&M: “When we talk, we talk on FaceTime about regular stuff. It doesn’t always have to be about football. (Elijah Robinson) wants me down there so we’re gonna make it happen. They’re persistent. They’re showing real interest, so getting down there I have to find out how I like it for myself.”
