Louisville OL Madden Sanker plans to enter transfer portal
Louisville offensive lineman Madden Sanker plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, he announced on Sunday.
The news comes the morning after the Cardinals claimed the Governor’s Cup in a 41-14 win over in-state rival Kentucky.
Sanker posted to social media to announce the news.
“I want to start off by saying I love and appreciate everything the University of Louisville has done for me,” his statement read. “I want to specifically say thank you to Coach Owens, Coach Fish and Coach Brohm. Thank you guys for leading and building me up as a man. I want to say thank you to every fan that has ever supported. unning out of that tunnel was one of the best feelings I’ve ever felt.
“This decision was not easy but after talking with friends and family I have decided to enter my name into the transfer portal. I will always have much love for the city of Louisville but I am ready to start this new chapter in my life.”
Sanker was a four-star recruit out of the 2023 recruiting class, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, which is a proprietary algorithm that compiles ratings and rankings from all four primary recruiting media services. He was the No. 316 overall player in his class and the No. 21 IOL.

He was also a multi-time state champion wrestler in his home state of Georgia.
Sanker is also a hold-over from the Scott Satterfield regime. While the 2023 recruit never played for Satterfield, as the two sides parted ways before the 2023 season, he remained true to his commitment and eventually played out two seasons for the Cardinals.
Now, he’ll look to make a home somewhere else but was sure to thank the Louisville faithful and those that helped him along the way before heading out.
The NCAA transfer portal officially opens the Monday after conference championship week, beginning on Dec. 9.
