Louisville quarterback Brady Allen has withdrawn from the NCAA transfer portal, On3 has learned.

Allen’s plans to enter the transfer portal were made public on Dec. 5. He’s since had a change of heart and will apparently stay with the Cardinals.

Across two seasons at Louisville, Allen only attempted one pass. He did not receive any game action in 2024.

Coach Jeff Brohm said last spring that he liked what he saw from Brady Allen, but that did not translate into any playing time in the fall. Instead it was Tyler Shough who took all the meaningful snaps for the Cardinals, leading Louisville to an 8-4 (5-3) record.

“I think Brady made some good throws, as well. Nothing perfect, but they all displayed that they’ve improved,” Brohm said in the spring. “And I think they understand at some point we’re going to need them all to play.”

Brady Allen was a four-star recruit in the class of 2022, per the On3 Industry rankings. He was ranked as the No. 7 quarterback in the country that season.

Allen originally signed with Purdue in the class of 2022, before transferring to Louisville after the 2022 season when Jeff Brohm accepted the Louisville job. He committed to Louisville in May of 2023 and played for the Cardinals each of the past two seasons.
