Louisville Cardinals running back Jawhar Jordan has made a decision on his collegiate career. On Wednesday, the redshirt junior running back announced that he would be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft. Jordan made the announcement via his social media account with this message attached.

“First and foremost, I want to thank God for giving me a life changing opportunity to further my academic and athletic career. It has been a long journey but nonetheless a blessing.

“Secondly, I want to thank my family and friends for their unconditional love and being there for me every step of this journey period to my teammates, I will never forget the memories made on and off the field. I will cherish them forever.”

“Thank you, Syracuse University and Coach Babers, for the opportunity. Forever grateful for my time at Syracuse.”

“And last but certainly not least, thank you, Louisville! I am grateful for Coach Satterfield for giving me the opportunity to finish my collegiate career here at the University of Louisville.”

“Thank you, Justin Ruffin and the academic staff. Thank you, Coach Brohm, for being a true leader to this team and bringing Louisville football back where it belongs. Thank you, Coach Barclay, for maximizing my potential and ensuring I develop into my best self. Also, thank you to Deion Branch, Coach Reno, and the entire staff, who must be acknowledged for their unwavering support. I am forever proud and blessed to be a Louisville Cardinal.”

“With that being said, I am excited to announce that I will be declaring for the 2024 NFL Draft,” wrote Jordan via X.

Jordan spent the first two seasons of his college career at Syracuse. Following the conclusion of the 2020 season, the Long Island, NY, native entered the NCAA transfer portal and landed at Louisville, remaining in the ACC. With the Cardinals, Jordan was genuinely able to showcase his skills in his second season in the program. However, his best season at Louisville was the 2023 season. Jordan finished the regular season playing in all 13 games for the Cardinals, carrying the ball 181 times for 1128 yards, averaging 6.2 yards per carry with 13 rushing touchdowns.

It is unclear at this moment if Jordan plans on suiting up and playing for Louisville in the Holiday Bowl when they take on the USC Trojans on December 27.
