Louisville tight end Izayah Cummings, who started his career at Kentucky, is entering the NCAA Transfer Portal, he announced Friday on Twitter.

“I have officially entered my name in the transfer portal as a Graduate Transfer! I want to thank everyone for allowing me to play for my city,” Cummings posted.

This past season at Louisville, Izayah Cummings appeared in four games, catching three passes for 33 yards before redshirting.

Prior to playing the 2024 season at Louisville, Izayah Cummings was at Kentucky for four years. He appeared in 47 games during that time, making four starts. Cummings caught 18 passes for 293 yards and three touchdowns during his time with the Wildcats.

Before beginning his college career, Cummings played at Louisville Male High in Louisville, Kentucky. He was ranked as a three-star recruit in the class of 2020, per the On3 Industry Rankings.

Cummings was a three-year starter in high school. During his final season in 2019, he recorded a team-high 57 receptions for 1,100 yards and 15 touchdowns.

The 6-foot-4, 235-pounder helped Louisville to an impressive season in 2024 under Jeff Brohm. The Cardinals finished with a 9-4 (5-3) record, a year after making the ACC title game in Brohm’s first season back at his alma mater.

Louisville names Deion Branch new WRs coach for 2025 season

Elsewhere with the Louisville program, the Cardinals have hired a new wide receivers coach.

Deion Branch is set to lead Louisville receivers in 2025 after serving as the team’s Director of Player Development previously. Not only that, Branch was the Cardinals’ interim head coach in 2022, going 1-0 and winning the Fenway Bowl.

Branch held it down after the departure of Scott Satterfield and prior to the arrival of head coach Jeff Brohm.

Branch played for Louisville in 2000 and ’01 before becoming a second round pick by the New England Patriots. During his final season, Branch put up 72 catches, 1,188 yards and nine touchdowns.

He was twice named First-Team All-Conference USA before going pro. With the Patriots (2002-05), Branch was a two-time Super Bowl champion and was the MVP of Super Bowl XXXIX, a 24-21 win over the Philadelphia Eagles.

He also spent five seasons with Seattle Seahawks before returning to New England in the middle of the 2010 season and played his final season (2013) with the Indianapolis Colts.

Branch finished his FNL career with 518 catches, 6,644 yards and 39 touchdowns.
