Louisville WR Caullin Lacy announces return for final season in 2025
Louisville wide receiver Caullin Lacy made the decision to redshirt after four games this season in order to save his year of eligibility. Lacy battled injuries for much of the year and wanted to sit out and get fully healthy for 2025.
It has now been revealed where Caullin Lacy will play in 2025. He is returning to play for Louisville and Jeff Brohm next season, according to On3’s Hayes Fawcett.
“BREAKING: Louisville WR Caullin Lacy will return for his final year at Louisville, his agency @bzsportsmgmt tells @on3sports,” Fawcett posted on Twitter. “The 5’10 190 WR has totaled 223 Receptions for 2,697 Yards & 13 TDs in his college career”
Caullin Lacy caught three passes for 11 yards in limited playing time this year. However, he has proven to be a playmaker when healthy.
Lacy started his career at South Alabama and put up eye-popping numbers with the Jaguars. His best year there came in 2023 when he caught 91 passes for 1,316 yards and seven touchdowns.

During his college career, Lacy has 223 receptions for 2,697 yards and 13 scores.
Back in October, Caullin Lacy’s agent explained why he was redshirting for the rest of the 2024 season.
“Caullin’s decision to redshirt was a decision that was agreed upon between both parties,” Lacy’s agent David Ben-Zaken told On3 in a statement. “Around a week before the 2024 season, Caullin underwent surgery to repair his collarbone. This injury stemmed from a practice during Fall camp. The estimated time of return from this surgery was 8 weeks. Caullin worked endlessly to recover and rehab as quickly as possible. In 5 weeks post surgery, Caullin returned to play.
“Caullin has not been fully healthy in games played up to this point. He will continue to work through shoulder mobility exercises and prepare to be his best self heading into next season.
“We believe this is in Caullin’s best interest and return healthy for another season. This is not an NIL decision and at this time, Caullin anticipates returning to Louisville for another season. Both parties are working tirelessly to make this happen.”
