18 eye-catchers from LSU's OL/DL, 7-on-7 camp
BATON ROUGE, La. — LSU held one of its staple summer camps on Saturday as the evaluation period heats up across the country.
Recruits from all over The Boot and nearby states like Texas, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida and more were on hand competing in front of coaches from universities and colleges all through Louisiana, as well as On3 National Recruiting Analyst Sam Spiegelman and Rankings Assistant Cody Bellaire.
Here were 18 eye-catchers from Saturday’s elite 7-on-7 and OL/DL camp at LSU:
2026 DL Jahkeem Stewart
2026 New Orleans (La.) St. Augustine DL Jahkeem Stewart could not be contained during Saturday’s OL/DL portion of camp. Working off the edge and inside, the 6-foot-5, 262-pound soon-to-be sophomore gave fits to opposing linemen with his burst, array of different pass-rush moves and pure strength to get home … consistently. This is nothing new for Stewart, who has dominated in camp settings for years. He faced some of the Boot’s best linemen in the 2024 and 2025 classes and came away with the most assertive performance this weekend.
Stewart is the face of what’s shaping up to be a very deep and talent-laden crop of 2026s in Louisiana along with Lamar Brown (eye-catcher from Wednesday’s elite camp), Blaine Bradford, Aiden Hall, Jakai Anderson, Jalan Chapman, among others. Stewart cannot be blocked 1-on-1 and his testing was off the charts (sub-5-second 40 and an 83-plus-inch wingspan). Stewart suits up for St. Aug this fall and should be right in the thick of the discussion for the No. 1 spot in his class in this analyst’s opinion.
2025 four-star OL Devin Harper
On300 IOL Devin Harper flashed in spurts throughout the camp. Harper not only boasts excellent size (6-foot-4, 300 pounds), he’s light on his feet and bends extremely well. Likely an interior lineman at the next level, Harper saw reps at tackle and was able to absorb and drive through defenders. Harper plays tough and low and at times nasty, and boasts strong hands as well. Harper has a strong athletic profile with major growth for more development upfront.
Three-star IOL Khayree Lee – LSU commit
LSU-committed IOL Khayree Lee measured in at 6-foot-5 and a lean 311 pounds. After a strong spring at Marrero (La.) John Ehret at left tackle, Lee saw action both on the edge and inside, and was excellent overall on the day. The slimmed-down Lee was agile and also strong enough to anchor down and anticipate different moves from defenders. Lee is a stock-up candidate entering his senior season in this analyst’s opinion.
Three-star DL Nikhil Jefferson
Three-star Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley DL Nikhil Jefferson showcased outstanding first-step quickness from the 3-technique and was enormously successful inside throughout Saturday’s OL/DL camp. Jefferson, who’s a bit undersized at 6-foot-1 and just shy of 300 pounds, was pesky in the middle. He has great hands, and strength and plays low with leverage.
Four-star IOL Elyjah Thurman
Peach State IOL Elyjah Thurman was among the standouts during positional workouts. A thinner frame didn’t stop Thurman from playing with a high motor with great bend and blocking well in space. Thurman showed well in 1-on-1s as well. The Hinesville (Ga.) Bradwell lineman collected an offer from the Gators earlier this month.
2026 OT Cylis Hill
After turning heads in positional workouts and with his testing numbers, Houma (La.) Vandebilt Catholic 2026 OL Cylis Hill put himself on college’s radars. Hill, 15, just wrapped up his first season playing football after making the transition over from the basketball court. Hill, a 6-foot-5, 290-pounder heading into his sophomore season down by the Bayou, is certainly an offensive tackle prospect to monitor into the fall.
2025 WR TaRon Francis
There’s been buzz all spring about 2025 New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr WR TaRon Francis, who last season as a sophomore shined in spurts. Francis’ focus going into his junior season has been consistency, which was on display in Karr’s spring game bout with Destrehan and also during LSU’s 7-on-7 camp. Francis, a 6-foot-2, 190-pound ball-winner, is a threat to take the top off the defense, make plays after the catch and create mismatches in the red zone.
2025 OT Witten Van Hoy
Benton (La.) OT Witten Van Hoy passes the eye test quickly checking in at a long 6-foot-7 and 290 pounds. Anchoring the offensive line for one of The Boot’s highest-flying offenses up North, Van Hoy boasts tackle-ready arm length and shined in 1-on-1s. He’ll easily be able to add more weight to his frame with the makings of a book-end tackle.
2025 DL Corey Adams
2025 New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr DE Corey Adams is a newcomer to the Cougars this season. Adams, who measured in at 6-foot-4, 254 pounds with an 82-inch wingspan, passes the eye test easily. He bends extremely well with that frame and is explosive getting off the line. Adams was outstanding in Karr’s spring game, too, and flashed in positional drills as well as 1-on-1s again in Baton Rouge. He’s primed to make noise as a junior.
Three-star CB Wallace Foster – LSU commit
LSU-committed CB Wallace Foster was just cleared after a season-ending injury sidelined one of the state’s most assertive defenders for the majority of his junior season at New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton. After returning to the secondary earlier this week to help Easton capture a 7-on-7 championship at Southeastern University, Foster was back in form at LSU pressing receivers and closing quickly on the ball in coverage. He came away with one pick and nearly a few more, and coaches around the state are well aware of the presence Foster brings to a defense.

2027 QB Peyton Houston
2027 Shreveport (La.) Calvary QB Peyton Houston is battling a senior for the starting job this off-season. In spite of seeing limited reps under center, Houston showed excellent command of the offense. The 2027 QB has elite vision of the field and a quick trigger — that same fastball that made Walker Howard so prolific at St Thomas More. Houston is still young, but well ahead of the curve with ball placement and ability to quickly distribute to his pass-catchers. There’s been a lot of buzz about Houston up in North Louisiana, and it was confirmed on Saturday.
Four-star WR Dre’lon Miller
On300 WR Dre’lon Miller was one of the top pass-catchers on hand in Baton Rouge after making a two-day unofficial visit to campus ahead of his June 29 decision date. Miller was the main target for Silsbee (Texas) in the tournament and the 6-foot-1, 195-pound Chess piece is superb making contested grabs anywhere on the field and is a game-changer with the rock in his hands. The Tigers are neck and neck for Miller on On3’s Recruiting Prediction Machine.
Three-star WR Kylan Billiot
Three-star Houma (La.) Terrebonne WR Kylan Billiot was an eye-catcher during Wednesday’s elite camp and again on Saturday, leaving town with an offer from the Tigers. The 6-foot-3, 190-pound pass-catcher from the Bayou clocked a 4.57-second 40, then showcased that downfield speed throughout the 7-on-7 tournament. Billiot also used that big frame to work in the middle of the field and play above the rim in the red zone. He’s got all the tools to be a playmaker in the SEC.
2025 Four-star RB James Simon
On3 top-100 2025 RB James Simon has been a spring darling this offseason as a top performer at various events. Entering his junior season at Calvary, Simon checks in at 6-foot and 200 pounds and the type of frame to bulldoze between the tackles. Simon, the son of former Louisiana Tech all-purpose threat John Simon, possesses a similar skill set as a pass-catcher out of the backfield with juice in the open field.
OT Mitch Hodnett
2024 Monroe (La.) Sterlington OT Mitch Hodnett has surfaced on college boards throughout the offseason with eye-catching size at 6-foot-5 and 300 pounds. Hodnett wins with sheer strength and packs a massive punch, and is certainly a stock-up offensive lineman in the state heading into the season.
Four-star DB Ju’Juan Johnson – LSU commit
LSU-committed DB Ju’Juan Johnson worked primarily at quarterback for Lafayette (La.) LCA, but also saw some spot duty in the secondary, where he’ll line up when he arrives in Baton Rouge full-time in a few months. Johnson, who last year in this setting clocked a 4.5-second 40 and shined in his first action on defense, continues to grow even more fluid dropping back in coverage and naturally finds the football.
On Saturday, Johnson was also sensation throwing the ball around. His playmaking ability is evident on both sides of the ball.
OT Jarmaine Mitchell
2024 Vacherie (La.) St. James OT Jarmaine Mitchell is coming off an injury-riddled junior season by the Bayou, but rebounded nicely at LSU’s OL/DL camp on Saturday. The 6-foot-8, 355-pounder is massive, with enormous length and more agile than anticipated. Mitchell is already catching the eyes of colleges in-state quickly this summer.
2026 S Aiden Hall
2026 New Orleans (La.) Edna Karr S Aiden Hall enjoyed a strong spring in Algiers, a trend that carried over into LSU’s 7-on-7 camp. Hall, who is a 6-foot-1, 175-pound soon-to-be sophomore, operates at the top of a talented Karr secondary with the freedom to roam. That led to several pass breakups throughout the afternoon and even more buzz entering the fall for Hall.
