4-star cornerback Jaylon Braxton offered by 'dream school' LSU

Less than a day after announcing his top eight schools and setting a commitment date, Frisco (Texas) Lone Star cornerback Jaylon Braxton picked up a major offer on Wednesday. It came from his “dream school as a kid” — the LSU Tigers.
Braxton is the No. 276 overall prospect in the 2023 class, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He ranks as the nation’s No. 27 cornerback and the No. 48 junior in Texas.
On3 is significantly higher on Braxton than the other three recruiting services though, according to the Industry Comparison. In the most recent On300 rankings, he was tabbed as the country’s No. 157 prospect, No. 19 cornerback and No. 29 player in the Lone Star State.
Among his top eight are: Arkansas, Baylor, Cal, Michigan State, Nebraska, Oklahoma State, Penn State and TCU. He is expected to announce his pledge on July 9.

The in-state Bears, one of just two Texas programs to make his Braxton’s final eight schools, are considered the leader by the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine (RPM). It currently gives Baylor an 86.6 percent chance of securing his commitment. Michigan State (3.3%) and Penn State (2.8%) trail far behind.
Jaylon Braxton is a standout on the track as well, posting verified times of 10.83 (in the 100) and 21.92 (in the 200) as a junior. On the field, he was named Texas’ District 5-5A D-I Two-Way Player of the Year.
