4-star EDGE CJ Jackson commits to LSU: 'It feels like home'
Just over a week ago, CJ Jackson backed off his commitment to Georgia Tech and opened his recruitment back up. He had lined up visits to LSU and UCF in October and was looking into trips to Alabama, Auburn and Colorado later this fall. Those trips won’t take place.
The No. 188 prospect in the On3 Industry Rankings made it to Baton Rouge over the weekend and right after LSU’s whipping of Auburn inside Tiger Stadium Saturday night, Jackson committed to the Tigers.
“LSU has been a dream school for me,” Jackson told On3 on Saturday night. “At the end of the day, I want to go to the next level. LSU can definitely help develop me, make me a better player and get me where I want to go. That is what is most important to me.”
Jackson came into the weekend with LSU high on his list. The four-star EDGE out of Tucker (Ga.) had visited before. He took an official visit over the summer. He had relationships with John Jancek and Matt House. Bobby Barham was very big in this too.

Baton Rouge is calling for CJ Jackson
“LSU feels like home. I get to play in the SEC, go against great competition and LSU is a great program to be a part of. When I was on my official visit, it felt right. It was a big family and that is what I look for. There is nothing better than LSU. They have produced some all-time greats, they go against top competition and it is about family. My goal is to get to the NFL, and when people see I played at LSU, there won’t need to be an explanation. When people know I came from LSU, they will know I came from greatness.”
Jackson saw greatness firsthand Saturday night. LSU dismantled Auburn 48-18. The new commit can’t wait to be a part of that.
“The stadium was sold out, the fans were rocking and I loved it,” Jackson said. “I loved how the defense bounced back from a couple of tough performances. They played hard, they played with pride and they played in a great environment. I love it is there. LSU is the best place for me. That is why I am going there.”
