4-star LSU CB commit Ju’Juan Johnson lights up scoreboard on offense
He may be committed to LSU to play defense, but Lafayette (La.) Christian Academy four-star cornerback Ju’Juan Johnson put on quite a show at quarterback Friday night.
LCA took on Lafayette (La.) Acadiana and five-star defensive lineman Dominick McKinley, who committed to Texas A&M before the game.
But McKinley and the Acadiana defense struggled to keep Johnson in check. Johnson ran for 140 yards and four touchdowns, including a 77-yard rushing score to open the second half. In the passing game, he was 12-of-23 for 317 yards and four more touchdowns.
Johnson is the nation’s No. 260 overall prospect and No. 27 cornerback in the 2024 cycle, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — a weighted average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 9 player in Louisiana.
Johnson committed to the Tigers back in May after decommitting from Colorado in April. He initially committed to the Buffaloes in February.

“Every time I go there, it’s family. Every time I text them, it’s like I’m a part of their family and already a part of the environment there,” Johnson said of LSU earlier this year. “Coach (Robert) Steeples is doing a good job of recruiting me. He talks to me almost every week and texts me every chance he gets. It feels great being of that ride, too.”
LSU class ranks inside top 10
Commitments from 16 blue-chip recruits have LSU sitting just inside the top of the On3 Industry Team Recruiting Rankings at No. 8.
Jackson (La.) Zachary four-star tight end Trey’Dez Green headlines the Tigers’ class as one of two top-100 prospects pledged to LSU. The other, Orlando (Fla.) Edgewater four-star cornerback Cai Bates, committed to the Tigers in late July.
Bates joins Johnson, Denham Springs (La.) four-star safety Dashawn McBryde, Nashville (Tenn.) CPA four-star cornerback Ondre Evans, Saint Francisville (La.) West Feliciana four-star safety Joel Rogers and New Orleans (La.) Warren Easton three-star cornerback Wallace Foster in a loaded defensive back group.
