4-star S Ryan Yaites reaffirms commitment to LSU
Denton (Texas) Guyer four-star safety Ryan Yaites committed to LSU on April 15. He announced Sunday that he plans to honor his pledge to the Tigers.
Oklahoma pushed hard for Yaites following his commitment to head coach Brian Kelly and his staff. Even though Yaites’ Guyer teammate, five-star quarterback Jackson Arnold, is currently committed to the Sooners, the 6-foot-1, 175 pound defensive back will be heading to Baton Rouge for his college career.
“Thank you to all the coaches who have took their time to recruit me and get to know (me) and my family but I’d like to publicly announce that my recruitment is closed,” Yaites wrote in a statement published to social media. “#GeauxTigers.”

Yaites is the No. 257 overall prospect and No. 18 safety in the 2023 cycle, according to the On3 Consensus, a complete and equally weighted industry-generated average that utilizes all four major recruiting media companies. He is also the No. 47 player in Texas.

“LSU has always been ‘DBU’ and that energy and that part of the program, saying I’m a part of ‘DBU,’” Yaites told On3’s Sam Spiegelman in April. “Every time I put on those gloves, I’m a part of LSU. I’m a ‘DBU’ defensive back.”
Yaites is one of four safeties in LSU’s 2023 recruiting class. The Tigers’ group is currently No. 5 in the 2023 On3 Consensus Team Recruiting Rankings and No. 3 in the SEC.

The NIL valuation does not act as a tracker of the value of NIL deals an athlete has completed to date. It rather signifies an athlete’s value at a certain moment in time.
