LSU fell short Saturday in the SEC Tournament semifinal, losing to Texas in Greenville. But there is a bigger story coming out of the game as Aneesah Morrow went to the locker room due to an injury. Morrow never came back out onto the court nor was an in-game update provided.

Kim Mulkey had one during her postgame press conference, saying it was a reaggrivation of a previous injury. Although the mid-foot sprain was enough to keep her out against Texas, Morrow will be good to go in the NCAA Tournament. Certainly positive news after a scary moment for LSU.

“Kim Mulkey said Aneesah Morrow reaggravated a mid-foot sprain,” Reed Darcey of The Advocate said via X. “Says she’s ‘good to go’ for the NCAA Tournament. ‘We have everybody.'”

Morrow was LSU’s leading scorer at the time of her injury. She was the lone Tiger to be in double figures with 10 points, making five of 11 shots from the field. Quality defense was provided from Morrow too, having four steals on the stat sheet.

There are bigger goals in Baton Rouge than the SEC Tournament, having hopes of advancing in the NCAA Tournament. Morrow is going to be needed in the coming weeks.

Injury update provided on Flu’jae Johnson amid shin splints

LSU has one win under its belt in the SEC Tournament and is now searching for another one on Saturday against Texas. They are doing so without Flau’Jae Johnson though, who is dealing with shin splints. Johnson did not play against Florida and is once again on the sidelines during the Texas game.

ESPN’s Holly Rowe did provide the latest on Johnson during the first half, saying the LSU star was wearing a walking boot at one point. Johnson has also changed up her leadership style now helping off the court. An injured player can easily disconnect at times but Johnson appears locked in.

“Flau’Jae is out with shin splints,” Rowe said. “I did see her walk into the building tonight with a boot on her right leg. I’ve seen her getting some ultra red therapy in the sauna, trying to get rehab and get that inflammation down. But she has been very active on the bench right now, talking to her teammates in the huddle. You see how great she’s been as a scorer but I see her trying to say very engaged and uplifting with her teammates right now.”
