The NCAA Women’s Championship Game started with incredible intensity, and LSU star Angel Reese picked up quick fouls from the tempo. Fans of the Tigers and Hawkeyes both were quick to call out the officials for potentially marring the game with foul trouble — especially after one reach-in foul called against Reese early.

Reese defended the low block on a play early and saw a chance to swipe at the ball — knocking it loose and out of bounds off of Iowa. The referees called the play a foul however, taking away a huge momentum play and putting the star in early foul trouble.

Reese continued to be a force in the first half despite the fouls, putting up seven points, three rebounds and three assists by the half as the Tigers built a double-digit lead before the break. The game’s tempo continued to blow by expectations as well, with the teams on pace to score near triple digits if the hot shooting continued.
